Would you recommend the master or assistant piano instructor for my piano lessons?

If you are only starting out, we would recommend studying with our assistant piano instructor. You are also welcome to start directly with our master piano instructor even if you are a beginner should that be your preference. If you currently play the piano and you are looking to develop your piano technique, sound and interpretation to a much higher degree, we would highly recommend booking your piano course with our master piano instructor.

Do I need to own a piano before starting my piano course?

No, we would recommend booking your piano course first to get started and your instructor will then help you to find a suitable piano from a piano store. A piano can be rented from as little as £55 per month, and a digital piano with weighted keys can be purchased for around £275. We always recommend high-quality instruments, but the point is that there are options available for all budgets.

Where do the piano lessons take place?

We have two locations in central London. You can currently learn the piano with us on a one-to-one basis in the City of London or in Mayfair. All our group piano lessons take place in the City of London. You can also learn with us from anywhere in the world via Skype.

Should I take one to one piano lessons or study in a group format?

If you are an intermediate or advanced piano student, we definitely recommend one-to-one piano tuition.

If you are just starting out, you can choose between group or private piano instruction.

We have found that studying in a group is very beneficial and you will learn a lot in a group format that you will not learn in a one-to-one setting.

Vice versa, if you study in a one-to-one format you will also learn a lot that you will not learn in a group format.

As an absolute beginner with no prior experience, a group format may be correct for you.

If you have played before as a child perhaps our one-to-one tuition will be more suitable.

The best thing you can do is to send an email to our manager Stefan at enrol@londonpianoinstitute.co.uk and he will be able to guide you through all the various options and time slots.

Do I need to practise ?

Yes. It is necessary for you to practise on a daily basis, if you wish to make any progress. As a beginner, 15 minutes to 30 minutes is the minimum amount of time you should dedicate to personal practice on a daily basis, as attending your weekly lessons would not be enough for you to develop your piano skills.

Would you help me to complete my grade exams?

Yes, we would be delighted to help you complete your grade exams, from grade 1 to grade 8. Our master instructor is obviously qualified to develop your piano skills beyond grade 8.
