The Great Gatsby summer concert:
The Great Gatsby theme really turned this evening into a delightful musical party evening and we all had a fabulous time!
There was such a magnificent atmosphere and we all felt a little bit like being transported back to the 1920s in Long Island NY!
A wonderful evening with lots of conversation, music and fun!
Tanay’s performance
We started the evening with Tanay performing the Titanic’s theme song: “My heart will go on!”
Tanay gave a stunning rendition and it is really an apt piece of music as it reminds us once again of DiCaprio, bringing our minds back to the Great Gatsby theme!
Excellent performance Tanay – you played superbly!
Peter’s performance
Peter performed the immortal “Romance in E minor” on the classical guitar and really brought the haunting melody to life at this concert! Afterwards I joined Peter and we did a Blues in A called “Peter’s Blues”. Peter played some really tasty blues licks and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly!
Meng’s performance
Meng performed “German Dance” by Franz Schubert and “Swan Lake” by Tchaikovsky. A very nice performance and everyone loved the music!
Tasha’s performance
Tasha also performed “German Dance” by Franz Schubert and played it very nicely! Well done Tasha!
Terry’s performance
We then listened to “Allegro from Sonatina in C opus 36 No1” by Clementi. Terry is getting better and better at performing each and every time and we are all VERY PROUD of his persistance and dedication. Excellent work Terry!
Marie-Danielle’s performance
Marie-Danielle performed “Prelude in C” by Bach. A very satisfactory rendition and Marie-Danielle was very happy too!
Alexandre’s performance
Next up Alex performed”A Stormy Coast” by Walter Carroll. Very well performed with great emotion! Excellent work Alex – keep it up!
Julia’s performance
Julia then performed a surprise piece of music and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! She received a roaring applause!
Henry’s performance
Another blues! Yes, Henry played some wonderful dominant seventh arpeggios and pentatonic/blues licks over a blues progression and really performed beautifully. Proud of your achievement Henry – and we look forward to the next performance!
